Our Children's Memorial WalkwayOur Children’s Memorial Walkway was established in the heart of Uptown Charlotte to allow for families of all ages, denominations, and races from across the area to have a place to come together in memory of their children. Our Children’s Memorial Walkway is made up of bricks, many of which are engraved honoring the memory of children. The garden houses cherry trees for shade, benches to rest on, sculptures of children at play and an inscribed monument. Surrounding Our Children’s Memorial Walkway are greenways, swing sets, a field for play, and a playground. It”s truly a place of life and hope in memory of Our Children.
Grief Is Mourning Sickness by Jan LutherGrief Is…Mourning Sickness is Jan Luther’s website and book devoted to helping you learn what to expect when you are grieving and what you can do about it. Each chapter in the book begins with an insight about the grief experience. Jan then takes that insight and models it, through story, to show how it’s been helpful for her and her real life clients. You’ll learn additional life skills in each chapter along with healing suggestions and exercises specific to your grief recovery.
Seasons of Grief from Shannon BrooksShannon Brooks created Seasons of Grief in order to share the love and memories of her daughter, Skylar, who she lost shortly after birth. It is her hope that Seasons of Grief can bring comfort to others who have lost children. Seasons of Grief offers custom cards, centerpieces and special holiday pictures to remember your lost loved one.
MOMOMothers of Murdered Offspring is a family support organization that reaches out to families of murdered victims to help them on the road to healing. LJ's FoundationJoe and Suzanne Collins created LJ’s Foundation in memory of their son, LJ,who had Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS) and was hit and killed on Interstate 85 in NC on October 21, 2012. Children with this disorder require their own type of safe facility. Joe and Suzanne want to share LJ’s story and raise awareness and funds to build a group home for PWS children in the state of NC and then to expand to other states where the need is also very great. HUGSH.U.G.S. Is a support group for people who have lost a family member or friend to suicide. It is our mission to offer healing, support, understanding, and education, in order to empower the survivor through the grieving process. We will offer a safe environment where confidentiality and individual differences will be honored in a respectful and appropriate way.
